Bladins Book Week Coming Up!
Bladins will be all about BOOKS from April 19 to the 23rd!
During week sixteen (April 19th to the 23rd), Bladins International School will be celebrating the original entertainment system: The Book. Throughout the week, we will be engaged in class-wide and school-wide activities that remind students the importance of reading. Below is a list of some of the planned activities, so get ready to read!
Activities that May Need Advance Preparation:
A Scholastic Book Fair will take place throughout the week. Come ready to choose your next favorite book to purchase.
Sponsored Reading will take place in the PYP where each class will compete for the most logged hours throughout the remainder of the term. This competition will begin during book week, and information will come in hardcopy form to all parents.
Favorite Fictional Character Dress-Up on Friday, April 23rd. Come dressed as your favorite fictional character (from your favorite book, perhaps?), and we'll try to guess who you are!
Schoolwide Activities
D.E.A.R: Drop everything and read! Every student, teacher, and member of staff will drop everything and read from 13:00 to 13:15 each day, Monday to Thursday.
Reading Buddies: On Friday morning from 9 to 9:50, we will partner up the PYP with the MYP for reading buddies. These will be the same classes and partners on the our focus day in February, helping students continue to build on our community-building theme.
Throughout the week, the following displays will be available for your perusal:
Teacher's Favorite Books and a Monday Morning Surprise! (main lobby)
'I Love to Read' Caterpillar! (will grow through the school hallways throughout the week)
We look forward to all the fun activities planned for book week!
