Bladins International Pre-School

At Bladins International Pre-school we seek to provide a happy, caring, calm and positive environment in which to maximize each child's potential to develop as a whole person. Children learn best when their efforts are recognized, resulting with them gaining a positive self-esteem about their achievements.

The pre-school is an international classroom, and takes children between the ages of 3-5 from all over the world. We are also setting the foundation and following the guidelines for the Primary Year's Programme (PYP).

The pre-school is open from 08.30 until 13.50 for the regular class time children. Here we follow the format of a regular classroom schedule. The pre-school also offers an after school programme, where there are a small number of places available to working parents from 8:00 until 17.00. We offer an excellent staff to child ratio with two qualified pre-school teachers and an assistant. The staff work closely together to provide a structured programme of inquiry-based learning. Age appropriate activities are planned according to the needs of each child, and outdoor activities are also scheduled, as an important part of the daily routine.

In the pre-school we aim to develop the child's confidence and respect for others both individually and through group guided learning. During the academic school year we work together on four different units of inquiry as well as developing the skills needed for later school life and for life itself.

When a child shows readiness, they are introduced to age appropriate levels of reading, writing and mathematics. This work is done using different teaching styles and techniques and learning through play. The children have an opportunity to enjoy physical education and movement lessons in the sports hall, as well as being able to express themselves by participating in a variety of music lessons. Songs and music play an important role in the daily routines in the pre-school classroom.

Non-English speaking children are very welcome in our class and the English language is taught in the pre-school in a safe and secure environment. We encourage the children to learn about and respect the different cultures represented in the pre-school. We make connections from around the world in our lessons, helping all children to become globally-minded students of the future.

Our goal is to create an environment where the children are happy to come to school and which allows each individual child to develop the social, emotional, physical, intellectual and psychological skills needed in their life.
